Neighbourhood Multi Service Project (NMSP)
Sponsored by William Shelton Education Charity
The aim of this service is to help primary (or secondary) school children newly arrived in the UK enhance their English language skills and catch up with homework. Through this extra help, we hope the children will adapt and integrate into the local culture and community more easily.
Classes are run every Saturday morning from 10:30a.m. to 12 noon during term time. In addition to relevant reading materials and supplementary exercises, we provide online facilities for students to obtain information needed for their homework.
A themed party is held at the end of each term for students, parents and volunteer teachers. It is an opportunity for them to develop a friendly relationship with the teachers & fellow students and a better understanding of the local culture & customs.
We provide an interpretation and translation service for parents. By request in advance, our volunteers can accompany non-English speaking parents to attend meetings at school as interpreters.
