Volunteers

Volunteers play a key role in the Bishop Ho Ming Wah Association and Community Centre. A key aim of our work is to improve social integration of older Chinese people in London by reducing isolation and enabling them to maintain their independence. Without your help and support, we would not be able to develop and deliver a range of services to meet the different needs of our beneficiaries.

Why Volunteer?
Research shows that volunteering has a positive impact on health on the volunteers as well as the service users. You can also develop new skills and gain other social benefits through volunteering. Our volunteers found the experience very rewarding, why don’t you get involved today?

Become a Befriender
Do you speak any Chinese dialect? Are you interested in other people, a good listener and reliable? If you have 3 – 4 hours to commit each month, would you like to be a volunteer for our befriending service paying home visits to elderly, homebound residents in London? Previous experience is not needed. We will provide training and support to prepare you for the role of befriender.

Get Involved
We have a range of roles for volunteers. It doesn’t matter what your skills, experience or background are, or how much time you have to give. We would be delighted to discuss with you.
